I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 38442) who treats individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am a certified Relational Life Therapist and have trained at the Relational Life Institute in Boston. This therapy is based on the groundbreaking work of Terrence Real, who wrote The New Rules of Marriage and I Don't Want to Talk About It (relationallife.com). This therapy is provocative, intelligent, and empathic. It produces rapid change.

I've also trained with Dr. Sue Johnson on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. The message is simple: enhance your relationship by establishing a real emotional connection.

I'm also a certified PAIRS therapist. This innovative therapy is based on the work of Virginia Satir, George Bach, and Lori H. Gordon. This skill-based relationship education is radical in its simplicity. It is a hands-on approach that teaches couples how to focus on the health of their marriage instead of its problems.

I'm a certified Group Psychotherapist with extensive training and experience in process group therapy. The best way to learn about relationships is in groups of people. If you want to learn about how to have a healthy relationship, do it in a group.

I use a combination of therapeutic methods. These include Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral, Existential, and Psychodynamic modalities. I customize treatment to the needs of the client. Therapy is not about being told what to do or how to think. My purpose is to guide and empower clients to solve their own problems.

I have a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from California Graduate Institute, a Master's Degree in Marital & Family therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, and a B.A. from Brigham Young University in Theater Arts and Speech Education. I work in private practices in Torrance and west Los Angeles. Give me a call and we can talk about what you need.

Marriage & Family Therapist (MFC 37696)

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work primarily with relationship issues and especially enjoy working with couples and groups. Other issues I address are depression, anxiety, loss, co-dependency, and the challenges of the entertainment business, all intertwined and stemming from in many cases, unresolved relationship pain.

For the past eight years, my colleague, Bonnie Kennan and I have been co-facilitating process groups as well as teaching relationship skills in workshops. Our goal has been to help participants find and maintain deeper connections through authentic living. It has been exciting and deeply rewarding work for all of us.

I received my formal training and MA as a Marriage and Family Therapist at Phillips Graduate Institute. My work and clinical experience in Psychotherapy began with Campion Counseling in Santa Monica where I worked with the domestic violence population, the homeless, and addiction. I have since worked with the Boy’s and Girls’ Club of Venice and Open Paths Counseling Center in Culver City. I received my bachelor’s degree (BFA) in Theatre Arts at the University of Arizona and spent two years pursuing my Master’s Degree at NYU on a Fellowship in Acting.

I continue to explore and enjoy the power of group process through my professional affiliation with the Group Psychotherapy Association of Southern California.

My private practice is in Santa Monica and the City of Ventura, CA (license # MFC37696). I can be reached at (310) 396-4942.
